Barnet

Overview
City life fuses with the countryside at the edge of London in Barnet; its sophisticated, suburban allure attracts families with its high performance schools and relaxing village life. Holding tightly on to its roots at the top of the Northern Line, its history dates back to the decisive Battle of Barnet that took place during the Wars of the Roses. However, in more recent years your neighbours might vary from footballers to first-time buyers, due to the huge contrast in homes available here.
Embracing the feel of a country town, Barnet boasts express links into London, a wide variety of Victorian, Georgian and modern properties, as well as a growing medley of shops and restaurants.

Did you know…?
Don’t be confused by its name; the Oxford Dictionary was actually started by the Headmaster of Mill Hill School in The Ridgeway. James Murray began penning the book, which he called ‘the Scriptorium’ in 1879, in a shed in the school grounds.
