10 Steps to Renting with PurpleKey

Step 1

Shortlist the properties you want to view on our website.


Step 2

Contact us anytime by phone or email, to arrange daytime or evening viewings, 7 days a week (subject to 24hours notice where property is tenanted).

A 5 minute screening interview will be carried out over the phone or an email sent to you with a brief questionnaire, in order to determine your suitability to the property, and vice versa.


Step 3

Following your viewing, you should express your interest in an email to Purplekey confirming the details of your offer as follows:

  • Earliest move in relative to the availability date
  • Length of lease term i.e.12months
  • Rent offered
  • Anything else you deem relevant to the offer

A scanned copy or photograph of your passport(s), drivers licence and valid visa (if applicable) will be required plus proof of current address i.e. copy of recent (not more than three (3) months old) utility bill ‎for each party signing the tenancy agreement. This is to confirm your identity, current address and check your residency status (if applicable)

An online application form will then be set up and you will receive a link to the application from Endsleigh tenant referencing, for you to complete and submit online.


Step 4

Once the online application has been submitted, we will review the application/s. Subject to everything being in order, we will advise whether your application for tenancy is approved in principle.

We will provide a breakdown of the costs and fees associated with letting the property and bank details for a bank transfer.


Step 5

At this point, before the referencing and verification of your application process is initiated, you will be required to make a bank transfer for the holding deposit equivalent to two (2) weeks rent (to be applied to the first months rent, less agent administration fees) plus referencing fees being £35 inclusive VAT per tenant / guarantor.


Step 6

Endsleigh will assess and verify your application and report their findings and either make a recommendation for approval or a conditional approval such as a guarantor. We will then seek the Landlord’s final approval.

Please note that until the Landlord’s final approval is obtained, Purplekey is entitled to continue to show the property to prospective tenants, however, no further deposits will be taken.


Step 7

A draft ‎tenancy agreement will be emailed for review and comment.

A further bank transfer will be required for the balance of monies i.e. balance of rent in advance, deposit etc.


Step 8

A final version of the tenancy agreement will be emailed to you via Docusign. All parties sign the agreement digitally online and submit.


Step 9

Arrangements will be made for an inventory report/ check-in with you ‎and handover of keys.
